Happy holidays!  Thanks to you, our supporter, another successful year of saving pets lives is in the books!  Whether you adopted, donated, shared and/or volunteered – you truly make a difference!  You are the reason hundreds of dogs and cats now have homes and the Rowlett Animal Shelter maintains a 99% live release rate.

If you don’t already, like our Facebook page!  We love sharing the pets each day and interacting with you!  You can also find Friends of Rowlett Animals on Instagram and YouTube!

Our volunteers are absolutely PAWsome!  The picture above is of Kim earlier this year helping with the pictures that are taken every week.  Our volunteers truly make a difference – taking dogs to adoption events, attending fundraisers, going to the shelter in their free time to spend time with the cats and dogs, taking a dog out on the town and so much more!  If you’re interested in joining us – head over to friendsofrowlettanimals.org/volunteer to get started!

Remember Keno?  Keno was a resident of the Rowlett Animal Shelter for nearly 10 months! He finally found his forever home, and is now known as Jasper!

Jasper is loving his new home, and is undergoing treatment for heartworms. This is possible because of extremely generous donors like you! Heartworm treatments can be extremely costly. Donations to Friends of Rowlett Animals ensures that no dog at the Rowlett Animal Shelter gets overlooked due to the cost of treatment.  Thank you!

A letter from a shelter dog:

Hi!  I’m Benny!  I don’t know much about my past, but what I do know is that my life has been forever changed now that I found myself at the Rowlett Animal Shelter.

I was strong heartworm positive, but I have undergone treatment. I also have this thing they call a heart murmur, and will require daily medication. I am a young at heart 6 years old and my one wish is that I can find my very own special family.

I am very strong on my leash, but with training I know I can be the best good boy ever. I will need a home with older kids. I like kids and all, I just sometimes don’t know my own strength. I love other dogs, and don’t seem to mind those things called cats.

My dream Home: I would love a home with a big backyard.  You see, I love spending my days outside laying in the sun and playing with my doggie friends. I would love to have a big soft bed, toys and some yummy treats. But what I would love more than anything is to have someone that will love me for the rest of my days. Please share my story so I can find my happy ending!

Love and kisses,

Benny

Thank you for all of your support this year

Here’s to a new year filled with happy tails!
