Fundraising Team

Join the fundraising team to help plan our major fundraising event of the year – Pooch Plunge! We start planning early so we can have a fun time and successful event.   We need help to make it happen, so we can continue to care for animals in need in our community!

We also deeply value our donors who continue to support us throughout the year.  We need help maintaining the database and donor appreciation program.

We’d love your help. Please get in touch ASAP for more information.

Foster Animal Program

Serve as a FOSTER PARENT. We can’t intake new animals without foster homes to welcome them. FRAs provides all medical care, and support for foster families. Any personal pets in home must be spayed/neutered and current on vaccines.

PetSmart Rockwall Adoption Center – Choose a day of the week that works for you, and head up to PetSmart in Rockwall to spend time with the adoptable cats!  Cats that have been in foster care move to PetSmart in Rockwall as room is available.  They need love and care – time to spend outside the condo to stretch their legs and play!  They also need their condos tidied and clean, with fresh litter, food and water.

Respite Caregiver for Cats – Provide temporary care for FRAs foster cats while the foster parent is on vacation. This is especially needed over holidays!

Data, Data, Data! – There is much data that needs to be stored for the foster and shelter programs.  If you’re spreadsheet savvy, have online database experience, or quick to learn anything new on the computer – let us know!

Canine Cruisers

Have a passion for the pooches?  Walk, exercise and spend time visiting – cuddling – playing with a dog!  Check in with the shelter staff and they will let you know which pup can be checked out for the day.  Take photos and videos and share with the FRAs team to be used to promote them for adoption!

Full Circle TNR

TNR (Trap, Neuter, RETURN) Community Response – Respond to pleas for assistance from the community by communicating with the person requesting assistance, evaluating how FRAs can help, and arranging for that help.  Assist with the rescue of at-risk community or feral cats for spay/neuter but who are not candidates for intake into the foster adoption program, and can be returned to their neighborhood.

Cat Trap Wrangler  Assist residents by loaning traps, collecting deposits, and following up with returning traps to the center.

Colony Manager  Feeding/watering feral cats at your home, or colony in Rowlett. Monitor the condition of the cats in the colony and notify the TNR Manager if sick or new cats appear at the colony.

Other Opportunities

Event Coordinator – Begin early and make sure each week’s events are fully staffed with volunteers.  Utilize our volunteer Facebook page, email and make phone calls to ensure each event is covered.

E-Newsletter – Creative?  Love to keep supporters informed of upcoming events, happy tail stories and other happenings?  Have a computer at home?  Volunteer in your pajamas and help us keep FRAs supporters up to date!
